ICE, ICE, DAISY! The pedigree runs deep with this pairing!
Ice is the son of NGSPA Region 2 ASD RU, DC, AFC Friedelsheim's Freight Train Mason, MH, Grandson of the famous FC AFC Bodacious Bo, and a double Great-Grandson to GAFC FC AFC NGSPCA CH Hi-N’s Feed Jake. Ice is true to his lineage; from day one he was a bird-finding machine with a super-athletic gait. From a very young age, he’s been a true natural in every way from his bird-finding abilities to his intense points to his composure in the presence of game. He can reach the biggest country from horseback and has the brain to adjust when you're hunting on foot. Amazingly, Ice can easily flip his internal on/off switch and chill, hanging out at the local brewery or just at home on the sofa as a family companion. Ice is truly an intelligent dog and is in a league of his own, a true testament to what a German Shorthaired Pointer should be.
Daisy is our keeper puppy from our litter with our matriarch, Tilli, and NWGDC FC AFC Hunt'em Up's Leave No Doubt MH UT1, "Murphey". She is also a granddaughter to NGSPA Region 2 ASD RU, DC, AFC Friedelsheim's Freight Train Mason, MH. Daisy is one of the most natural bird dogs with one of the most exceptional bird-finding abilities that we've ever seen, which has earned her the title of “Daisy the Wonderdog” around our house. She's as honest as they come, and has an innate ability to manufacture birds when other dogs aren't coming up with any finds. Because of this, we often accuse her of hiding quail in her pockets when she goes hunting. She also has an amazing natural retrieve, loves the water, and is very eager to please.
Her first bird season was as a 10-month old puppy in 2022 and we started her on South Dakota Prairie Chickens and Sharptail Grouse. By the end of that season, she ended up finding more coveys of wild bobwhite quail than any of our veteran dogs, and she’s only improved with time. She always knows exactly how much pressure she can give a bird, and she'll stand on a covey all day long.
In 2023, the GSPCA changed their breed standards to include dogs with black coats, which opened the door for black GSPs like Daisy to be shown in AKC conformation events. Daisy started her conformation career that spring, and became one of the first black female GSPs to attain the AKC Champion title. She is now more than halfway to attaining her Grand Champion title as well.
Daisy is undeniably an amazing house dog and companion with a fantastic off switch and great personality. She'd be content to cuddle on your lap all day long if you'd let her, but she's also able to transition to life as a traveling show dog effortlessly as well. She's one of the most happy-go-lucky dogs around, which we're certain she gets from her sire, Murphey. Daisy is just a really great all-around sporting dog that checks all the boxes for our breeding program.
We are doubling up on Freidelsheim’s Freight Train Mason with this pairing; Ice’s father is Daisy’s Grandfather. Out of this litter, we anticipate big-running, intelligent dogs with noses like cannons and the endurance to run for days, but the ability and knowledge to know when to scale back on their run, or even switch it all off for some downtime. We believe these puppies will excel in all sporting areas, but particularly in field-trialing, and we would love to see these pups going to some homes that will test them in that arena.
