Daisy is our keeper puppy from our litter with our matriarch, Tilli, and NWGDC FC AFC Hunt'em Up's Leave No Doubt MH UT1, "Murphey." She is one of the most natural bird dogs with an exceptional bird-finding ability that we've ever seen, which has earned her the title of “Daisy the Wonderdog” around our house. She's as honest as they come, and has an innate ability to manufacture birds when other dogs aren't coming up with any finds. In fact, we often accuse her of hiding quail in her pockets when she's hunting. She also has an amazing natural retrieve, she loves the water, and is very eager to please.
Her first bird season was as a 10-month old puppy in 2022 and we started her on South Dakota Prairie Chickens and Sharptail Grouse. By the end of that season, she ended up finding more coveys of wild bobwhite quail than any of our veteran dogs, and she’s only improved with time. She always knows exactly how much pressure she can give a bird, and she'll stand on a covey all day long.
In 2023, the GSPCA changed their breed standards to include dogs with black coats which opened the door for black GSPs like Daisy to be shown in AKC conformation events. Daisy started her conformation career that spring, and achieved her AKC Champion title in May 2024, becoming one of the first black female GSPs to attain that title. She is now more than halfway to attaining her Grand Champion title as well.
Daisy is undeniably an amazing house dog with a fantastic off switch and great personality. She's content to cuddle on your lap all day long if you'd let her, but she also transitions from the field to being a show dog effortlessly as well. She's one of the most happy-go-lucky dogs around, which we're certain she gets from her sire, Murphey. Daisy is just a really great all-around sporting dog that checks all of our boxes.
Mason, Daisy's grand-sire, was a once in a lifetime dream machine that excelled in every arena beginning at a very early age. Mason earned his NAVHDA Utility Prize I 204 at just 14 months, followed by his Versatile Champion title at a year and 10 months of age. He finished his Master Hunter title before he turned two years old. Mason was the epitome of a truly versatile gun dog while being a great family companion to his owners, Barry and Michelle Bollinger. During his lifetime, he hunted a wide variety of upland and waterfowl game on the East Coast and all throughout the Midwest.
Mason's reproduction record speaks for itself: he was a three-time Field Sire of the Year, four-time Hunt Test Sire of The Year, two-time Dual Champion Sire of The Year, one of the all-time most successful NAVHDA sires, and still holds the record for being the youngest dog of any breed to become a NAVHDA VC at just one year and 10 months of age. Mason was truly an outstanding gundog, and his legacy can clearly been seen in his offspring's accomplishments.
From this litter, we anticipate puppies that will excel in any hunting sport arena you want to compete in, but with an appropriate off-switch that will make them a treasured house companion. Placement preference will be given to homes with field trial experience.
