When he approached Katy about wanting to get another birddog after a decade-long hiatus from owning his own birddog, Katy's only stipulation is that it had to be an indoor house dog as well. After doing his research, Michael landed on the German Shorthaired Pointer, a breed known for versatility in its hunting abilities as well as its affection for humans. We put a lot of thought into our breeding process, which starts with carefully selecting our breeding pairs. We only breed German Shorthaired Pointers that meet the GSPCA's standards for health, temperament, and conformation. We will have, on average, one litter per year, and we will not breed unless we plan on keeping a puppy from that litter to further our breeding program. Our goal for our breeding program is to provide biddable, eager-to-work gundogs that also make great house companions. For that reason, Prairie Valley puppies will only be placed in homes of active upland hunters. Preference will be given to buyers who participate in hunt tests and field trials.
